Adding a Location

Hello and welcome to this Blocks tutorial, where we will be showing you how to add a new location to your Blocks site. So here we are on our dummy account for Kloset Storage and on the All Locations page. Underneath the header image, you will see locations that are listed. So in this first row here, you will see location name, the addresses, phone numbers, the amenities that are listed for that location. Some say small, medium, large. Some say we have what you need. This can literally be whatever you want, as well as the lowest price that you have for a location or for a unit at the location.

If you click on the location, you will see that on the location page you have a header image up top. And then again you have all of your information—your location information, address, phone number. Your unit inventory information will start to populate on the left. You scroll down, there's a map on the right, and then office hours, access hours, and so on.

So I'm going to show you how to add this to a new location. Here we are on the dashboard view of your Blocks website, where you're going to add, remove, edit different pages. Over here on the left, there is a tab called Locations. If you click on that, it's just going to take us to what we call the Location Information or the Location Integration section. So not only is it all the locations that you have on your website, this is where you will add and change the information that we were showing you on the location page earlier—like your address, phone number, as well as adding locations.

So if I go ahead and click on Add Location, you'll see this simple little form pops up. You just need to populate all this information. I'm going to go ahead and do that really quickly.




So now here I've put in all the information. We're going to call this Lewisville. We've got the phone number, the email address, address, starting unit price. For amenities, I just put “We have what you need.” We have office hours, access hours, and then you can put a location teaser on here that SEO will use to know a little bit more about your location and help categorize it online.




Up here at the top right, you have your facility ID. Obviously, when you get your facility in SSM, you will have a longer number than that, but you're going to put that number there and that will then help to populate all of your unit inventory. And then down here you will see the image that I've chosen for this location.

Really easy to add. You just go and click on “Choose File,” and then go ahead and go to where you have the image located on your hard drive, and then save and add that in. Then at the very end, when you're done, you're going to click on “Save Location.” I'm going to show you what that looks like.


So now that we've added that location, if you see down here at the bottom left, Lewisville is now listed as one of the locations on this website. Again, you have the address, phone number, the starting price, the amenities that we chose.


If we click on that location, you'll see the header image. And this again correlates to the picture that we chose. So this picture down here that we chose as the existing photo is going to be your header image as well as the image on the All Locations page.


As you scroll down, you will see the location name, contact information, phone number. Your unit inventory is now populated. Your map—again, this is going to be by the address that you give it. Scroll down, you have office hours, and so on.



So that is easily how you add a new location. And it really is that simple. There's no more forms or, you know, service tickets or anything like that. If you know the SSM ID, you can literally add a new location in minutes.
