How to Customize the Width of Blocks Across Your Website
Hello and welcome to this Blocks tutorial. Today, we're going to show you how to utilize the new width feature. To demonstrate what this feature does, we’ll use a preview page for the Zionsville location. While this preview doesn't show unit inventory, it displays all other content. As you scroll down, you’ll notice that the last two blocks stretch the full width of the page, from left to right.
However, you might prefer for those blocks to be narrower on your website.
With the new width feature, you can easily control that with a simple toggle—no complex settings required. Let’s walk through how it works.
Once you're logged into the site, start on the dashboard and click on “Pages” on the left. Then go to the “Location Pages” tab at the top right and select the location you want to edit—Zionsville, in this case.
As you scroll down the page, you can edit any block (other than the dynamic block) by clicking “Edit Block.” Inside the block settings, you’ll now see a new toggle labeled “Full width.”
If the toggle is blue, the block is set to span the full width of the page. To make the block more narrow, simply click the toggle to gray it out. Once done, click “Save,” and then publish the page as you normally would by selecting Publish, and then “Yes, Publish Changes.”
Some blocks may look better in full width, while others work best in a narrower format. For example, on the page we’re editing, both blocks are currently set to full width. But if we decide to make only the second-to-last block narrower, we can toggle off full width for that block, save, and publish the change. After refreshing the preview, you’ll see that the adjusted block is now narrow while the final block remains full width. This offers you greater flexibility in your page design.
Best of all, this feature isn’t limited to location pages—you can use it on any page across your site.
