How to Add a Block

Once you've created a page, learn how to add "blocks" of content to complete the layout.

Welcome to this Blocks tutorial on how to add a new block to an existing page. At the top of every page you will see these four tabs.

On the right you will see add block. If you simply click on that tab, you have another screen that pops up, giving you the option to then add a new block row. Go ahead and click on that.

This will refresh the page, but if you scroll down to the bottom, you will now see a new block has been added in order to go ahead and finish creating this new block, you want to click on the Edit Block button, which now brings up what we call the skeleton. These are the different options that you can add to the row.

This will continue to grow as we build, but right now each of these skeletons represent a different look for a different block row that you can add.

For example, a block with image on the left or text on the right would look something like this. Or a block with full image and text could look something like this.

Or let's say you wanted to add a block that had different rotating images that you could use to show reviews or even images of different locations. You would use this particular skeleton.

Once you know which new block row you would like to add, simply click select underneath that skeleton and you will now have the ability to edit that new row.

So if you want to add an image we would click on Edit Image, then click on choose file. Browse to where you have the image located that you want to add.

Once you've added that image, you can choose to add parallax effect. If you would like.

You can also add in the different SEO tags for that image, and then you would click upload. And now you see that that new image is now on the left hand side.

You can also change the text here on the right to anything you would like, and even add a secondary image if you want to do that.

Let's say we don't want to do that for now, but maybe we do want to change the background color.

So by default you're going to have white. But if I had another color that I wanted to change it to, I could simply use the tools or even type in the exact hex code that I want to use for that color.

This is very important for making sure brand colors are consistent across the platform, but I'm going to go ahead and leave it white and click apply.

Now once I have saved that block, if I scroll back down, we now see this block is still at the bottom. But as you can tell, the parallax effect is now on there.

The text is on the right and if I want to move it into a different position, I would just use the up arrow to move it to where I want it.

And that is how you add a new block on an existing page.
