Learn the basics of pages inside of the SSM Web Platform editor with this video.
Hello and welcome to this Blocks tutorial where we will give an overview on Blocks Pages. On the left of the menu on the blocks website you will see different options. The second one here is pages. If you click on that, it will take you to all of the pages that make up the different website and how to get to edit those pages.
On the top left here you will see the search menu. So as you add more pages to your site, if you want to quickly be able to find one, let's say the new two page start typing that in and it will narrow down to the page that you're looking for. Up here at the top also, you will see that you have the ability to go to the corporate or location pages. The location pages are all of the different locations that you've already added to the website.
So once one has been added to a website, you can then go in and add different elements or different blocks to that page, which we will go into in a different video. The corporate pages or all of the other pages that make up your website, including your home page, your contact us, Our story. All of the other pages will be represented here.
Now, in order to view a particular page in editing mode, simply click on the page. We'll choose our story for this example, and that will bring you to the editing mode for that particular page. At the top you have different tabs history, publish, preview and add block.
History takes you to all the different drafts of that particular page. So every time you save a page and then start to work on it again, it will create a new draft. So if you make a bunch of changes but want to revert back to a previous version of the website, rather than going back and re modifying every particular element to get it back to the way that it was, you can simply restore a previous version to be able to quickly revert the page back to its original or previous look.
The second tab, which is publish, is where you will go to publish the page after you've made changes to it, because no changes will be seen live by the customer until you have published that page. The third tab is the preview tab. This is where you need to go to be able to preview the page, the way the general public would see it, or anyone visiting your website.
If you want to add a new block to a particular page, you would just simply click on Add Block. So as you scroll down here, you will see the page is broken up into different blocks. These are the different elements on the page. So for example where it says our story. This is what that block looks like in editing mode. This is what that block looks like on the actual website.
Each block gives you the ability to move the block up or down by clicking one of these arrows. You can copy that block if you want to duplicate it on the same page or another page. You can delete the block, or you can edit the block.
Finally, on any page that you're editing, you also have the SEO optimizer on the right. This gives you the ability to add your SEO keywords for that particular page, as well as an SEO description. You will start to see that the block up here will get more full as you're adding more SEO elements to the page.
